Caribbean Bay's Summer Wave Festival [VU Entertainment] |
Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am and rapper Akon will perform at a summer music festival in Korea next month, according to the show's promoter VU Entertainment.
A press release from VU announced that Will.i.am and Akon will take the stage of the fest alongside Korean hip-hop artist Tiger JK at "Caribbean Bay's Summer Wave Festival" at the Gyeonggi Province, South Korea for two days on July 22 and 23.
Born William Adams, Will.i.am is known for producing albums with renowned artists including Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, U2, Rihanna, Usher and Justin Timberlake.
He is also the winner of seven Grammy Awards from 2005 to 2010; three for Best Rap Performance with a group, and one each for Best Urban/Alternative Performance, Best Short Form Music Video, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Performance with a group.
Currently, he is working on Korean girl group 2NE1's U.S. debut album, having produced a score of songs for them.
Akon is a Senegalese American R&B recording artist and songwriter. He rose to stardom with his single "Locked Up" from his debut album "Trouble" in 2004 and since released several records including "Konvicted," "Freedom" and "Stadium."
He has earned six Grammy Awards nominations and has produced many songs for famed singers such as Lady GaGa, Colby O'Donis, R. Kelly, Leona Lewis and T-Pain.
Tickets for the "Caribbean Bay's Summer Wave Festival" will be available on various online reservations including Interpark, Auction and Yes24 starting June 22.
