Hyomin appointed T-ara's new leader
SEOUL: Korean girl group T-ara's management company, Core Contents Media, has announced Tuesday that Hyomin will be taking over from Boram as the group's leader, reported Korean media.
"We have decided to change the leader of the group with every new album release, to instill a sense of responsibility in all the members," explained a spokesperson for the group.
The spokesperson added that Hyomin was a suitable candidate to lead the group, when they embark on promotional activities for their new album "Roly-Poly" in July.
The spokesperson pointed out that, like the group's first leader, Eunjung, Hyomin has had a lot of training with T-ara.
The other T-ara members who have not held the appointment of leader will eventually get a chance to do so in the future.
T-ara started out as a quintet in 2009, but had since become a seven-member group.
The K-pop group, which plans to enter the Japanese market in July, currently consists of Hwayoung, Boram, Qri, Soyeon, Eunjung, Jiyeon and Hyomin.
